Semifinal Matchups Set!!

The semifinal match ups for the 2012 DII State lacrosse championship tournament are now set.

With its win over Everett, Seattle Prep advances to face the Garfield Bulldogs this Wednesday, 5/23 at 7:15pm at
Lower Woodland #7. Snohomish thumped Three Rivers earlier today to set up their semi final matchup with Nathan Hale.

Three of the final four teams in this years’s contest represent the Metro conferences, with two of those three from our own Metro South conference. Of all the surviving teams, only Garfield has defeated higher seeded teams, knocking off Gig Harbor and Overlake. Both of those teams had been ranked #1 in their respective conferences…

The winners of Wednesday’s contests will meet for the championship game next Saturday, 5/26 at Seattle’s Memorial Stadium.

First Round Playoff Results & Looking Forward

The first round is over. The
Updated Bracket is here, and also available from the link in the RHS of this page.

For those of you out of the loop or living under a rock, Garfield emerged victorious in their first round matchup against Gig Harbor. Next up is Redmond’s Overlake. That game will be on Friday, 5/18. Game time is 5pm at
Overlake School. (Please keep in mind that this is a 5pm start on the Eastside on a Friday!! Plan accordingly to be at the field no later than3:45 pm.)

Overlake is a much more disciplined team than the one we faced last Saturday, and will prove to be a tough opponent. If Garfield makes it past them, we will face the opponent of the Seattle Prep/Everett game…

See you all on Friday!

The Playoffs

With the Bulldogs (10-5-0) resounding win over #1 Seattle Prep (13-2-0) last Monday night, the team earned itself a playoff spot for the third straight year. Wednesday night’s game with Vashon determined that the Bulldogs would take the number three seed in the Metro South conference, behind Prep (#1) and Three Rivers (#2).

The DII Playoff brackets are here for review.

Our first round opponent will be the #1 seed in the Olympic Conference, Gig Harbor (8-4-0). Barring any unforeseen changes, the game will be on Saturday 5/12 starting at 7pm at
Peninsula High School, in Gig Harbor, WA. Please allow adequate travel time, it can be a haul, at least an hour, depending on how you choose to get there…

The winner of this game advances on to the League Quarter Finals, played either next Friday (5/18) or Saturday (5/19).

I’ll be updating the bracket results regularly for the duration of the Playoffs.
